Isn’t that the truth!
I have successfully worked with people who feel as though they have spread themselves so thinly they feel almost transparent. Together we have found a way to put in boundaries, found ways of saying ‘no’ and talk about where those intense feelings of guilt come from.
My clients often talk about those rare occasions when they do say no, they talk about how the guilt overwhelms them and instead of enjoying the space it may have given them. They are swamped by feelings of failure, of being not good enough or feeling like the most selfish person they know.
It doesn’t have to be that way. I know I have been there myself!
