How long does a counselling session last?
Each session lasts for 50 minutes online or in person.
If there are technical issues we can continue the session on the telephone.
When do I need to pay for my session?
Payments needs to be made prior to the session starting, by at least 24 hours. I will send out the link when payment has been received if it’ online.
If there are any problems let me know as soon as possible.
I’m already feeling overwhelmed, can you tell me what happens in the first session?
That is up to you. I’m not expecting you to tell me everything straight away, everyone is different. We’ll talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you are hoping to get out of the sessions and then we’ll take it from there.
Do I have to come to counselling every week?
It is better at the beginning to attend sessions weekly. This allows us to build our relationship. But I know there can be a lot of different factors to think about so we can chat about it to get the best solution for you.
I haven’t had counselling before, what if I get it wrong?
There isn’t really any wrong or right in counselling as such. Of course if you come every week and talk about your favourite TV show then not much is going to happen. That being said, as we look at what makes it your favourite TV show and why you like the characters you do, you may discover thing about yourself along the way.
What do I do when I want to stop the sessions?
You can stop. You come to counselling because you choose to. I would suggest it is better to give a week or twos notice so we can end properly.
What happens if I can’t make it to the session?
You are required to give 24 hours cancellation notice if you cannot attend the session. If you give less notice you will still be charged.
Where there is an opportunity e can try to find another time depending on availability. In some circumstances payment may be carried over to the next session
